Kari met Forrestal on Tinder and I knew when I met him at her sister Jill’s wedding, he was a keeper, especially after he planned ahead and had me photograph his proposal! Kari and I are no strangers as she is the mastermind behind the beautiful florals at Petals and Perks! When I photographed her sister Jill’s gorgeous wedding in May of 2018 it was incredible, so I knew Kari + Forrestal’s day would be no different! I couldn’t wait to see what fresh, new ideas she would bring to the table for her big day and let me tell you she definitely didn’t disappoint!
Kari had this daring idea to switch her wedding around from the traditional timeline to one that included a ceremony at sunset! Guests arrived for a social hour followed by dinner and then headed out to the beautiful outdoor door ceremony space behind Terrace View Event Center for a sunset ceremony. It couldn’t have been more perfect!
I loved the modern vintage vibe, complete with a balloon wall, vintage furniture, and the most amazing florals! Every little detail was thought out and it all came together beautifully! The bold color palette was something so different from what I typically see and I couldn’t get enough of it!

How beautiful was their wedding party? I loved the way the florals popped with the dusty blue dresses and those floral ties!
We of course had to take some photos with Forrestal and Kari’s pups, Lily and Drax!
All the details inside the venue were thought out! I really loved their cake display where Kari incorporated all of their parents and grandparents’ cake toppers from each of their wedding days. Such a thoughtful gesture!
We of course had to sneak outside for some sunset photos before their ceremony! Nothing like an Iowa sunset!
The reception was full of laughs and meaningful toasts! I left with my heart feeling so full!
