What to Expect for Your Newborn Session

SHARE

As a Mom myself I know how stressful it can be those first days, weeks, and even months with a newborn baby! This is exactly why I try to make your newborn session as stress free as possible! Prior to your session, I’ll send you a newborn session questionnaire. It asks about baby’s gender and name, who will be at the session, your preferences when it comes to colors, poses, and styling of your session and more! This helps begin getting set up for the session before you arrive so we can get started as soon as baby is ready!

I will also send you a prep guide which tells you all the things you’ll need to know to prepare for your session! On the morning of your session, I’ll ask you to keep baby awake for approx. an hour before the session if possible. This ensures your new babe is nice and sleepy for photos!

Almost everyone asks what they need to bring for the session, the answer is your cute new baby! I keep all the props needed for the session in the studio! Everything from fabric backdrops, wraps, headbands, bonnets, bowls/buckets, and more!

Once you arrive to the studio, I’ll have you feed your little one until their belly is nice and full! After they’ve been fed we’ll get started with the session! If your newborn is still awake at this point no need to worry, they will fall asleep and this can allow us to get some sweet awake shots too!

Now you can kick back on the couch and scroll Instagram or catch up on some sleep! Take it easy while I do all the work! All of my newborn sessions begin at 9:30AM and usually last around 2-4 hours. If you booked a full newborn session we can do family/sibling photos either at the beginning or end of the session. If needed Dad can come over his lunch break too!

I can’t wait to document the newest addition to your family! If you haven’t booked your session yet! Reach out, I’d be happy to see if I have a spot still available for you!
