Albert + Kayla // Earthy Romantic Iowa Wedding

SHARE

Albert and Kayla’s wedding day was one for the books. It was full of laughter, love, and perfect details. We started out the day at Kayla’s parent’s farm near Inwood, IA. Her family’s farm place sat perfectly on top of a hill with breathtaking views of the river and gorgeous landscape as soon as I walked in, I felt right at home.  Kayla was getting ready by the dining room table, gorgeous florals were sitting in vases all around the kitchen and everyone was full of happiness. It truly was the perfect start to a wedding day.  They met their freshman year at Dordt College through mutual friends but didn’t start really getting to know each other until Senior year when they both started going to the same Crossfit class!

I absolutely adored Kayla’s flowers. They were full of soft neutral colors, lots of greenery and texture. Her sister, Katie did all the flowers for the wedding. She has since started her own business, Indigo Row Floral Design. I can’t wait to see what other beautiful flowers she does for brides!  She is incredibly talented!

Albert + Kayla had their first look on the porch on the back side of her parents home. They were full of smiles as they saw each other for the first time! We did all of their portraits on her parents property. The old buildings made for some beautiful backgrounds!

There was no shortage of laughter between these two! Albert always had a way of making Kayla light up!

Talk about a good looking bridal party! I love the mis-matched bridesmaids dresses in a mix of beige, blush, and grey.

Kayla + Albert’s ceremony was so special. You could feel the love of their families surrounding them. Albert’s sisters joined Kayla’s sister,  Kristin in singing during the ceremony. It was so beautiful!

Following the ceremony we headed to Calico Skies Vineyard & Winery for the reception where there was no shortage of amazing food. From steak and mashed potatoes for the dinner meal to donuts for the dessert, these two spoke my love language!

We of course had to sneak away for a few sunset photos which never disappoint!

How pretty is that cake?!

There were so many amazing speeches, I felt like I truly got to know so much about Albert + Kayla’s love story!

Congratulations, Albert + Kayla! Your day was absolutely beautiful and I wish you all the best!
