Mitch + Angela // New Year’s Eve Iowa Winter Wedding

SHARE

When Angela booked me for her wedding I was thrilled to hear she was planning a New Year’s Eve wedding! I mean as if weddings weren’t already a party why not have one on New Years Eve?! My excitement was a bit shaken when we found out we were expecting another baby and I was due just 2 weeks after Mitch and Angela’s wedding date. I reached out to her and she was just the sweetest thing. She congratulated us and was so chill about the entire thing. We made a plan for me to hire another photographer as a backup for me just in case something came up. I was so grateful she still was up for me shooting their wedding day, even if I was largely pregnant!

Prior to their wedding day Angela got in touch with me and mentioned she really wanted to take a few photos in her grandmother’s wedding dress. Since the dress was so fragile and old she wasn’t able to wear it but wanted some photos to remember her with. I couldn’t have loved the idea more and loved the way they turned out!

I adored Angela’s entire look from her gorgeous wedding gown full of texture to her gold jewelry and bold lip color. She made a stunning bride.

And how sharp is this all black look on Mitch with his plaid bowtie?!

I was so glad to hear Mitch and Angela were up for braving the cold for some photos outside. Even though it was a brisk Iowa winter day, you’d never guess by their smiles! They cozied up and we got some gorgeous photos outside.

Angela nailed it on these stunning hunter green dresses for her girls and I loved how it popped with the faux fur shawls. Fun fact, the bride’s mom actually made all the shawls for the girls! Don’t they look amazing?!

I always love an emotional shot of the bride and her Dad walking down the aisle.

Angela did such a perfect job combining the typical party theme of NYE into her wedding theme.  I love the look of all the evergreen greenery throughout the church mixed with the accents of gold. The ceremony took a place at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Hospers, IA. The church itself is gorgeous but the lighted Christmas trees worked perfectly for their wedding decor.

How adorable are these little cakes on every table at the reception? It gives the space the perfect New Year’s Eve party vibes! And how about that gorgeous gold cake and cake topper?! Love.

Congratulations Mitch and Angela! You’re day was the perfect winter wedding and I wish you nothing but happiness!
